Lake Naivasha

Overview

Enveloped by grassy banks and acacia woodlands, this beautiful freshwater lake sits atop the Rift Valley at an astonishing 1884 meters above sea level. With its serene surrounding that is home to hundreds of distinct bird species and several wildlife, including zebras, giraffes, hippos, and elands, Lake Naivasha is a staple of Kenyan safaris in its own right. Unsurprisingly, there is an abundance of accommodation options to suit all budgets, and a variety of activities — from quintessential resorts to exquisite lodges featuring a variety of cottages, and even to the more traditional tented camps. Aside from the typical boating excursion around the lake, visitors can engage in a myriad of activities, such as Nature walks, horseback riding, and day tours to the nearby Hell’s Gate National Park and Crescent Island Sanctuary.
